Inspired by the classics, Traditional Cut Stone's modern day masterpieces often develop from a fledgling idea communicated from client to artist. Hand drawn renderings and artists sketches are the first stage in the process from initial concept to the finished product.

Material samples are recommended, examined and selected for compatibility with design. From the onset of a project, clients work in conjunction with a master carver to ensure requirements are met.

While adhering to conventional carving techniques, Traditional Cut Stone also makes use of modern technology to assist in the creative process. A full CAD system enables Traditional Cut Stone to produce large architectural drawings and blueprints at the design stage to facilitate interaction with architects, designers and clients.

It is this combination of ancient techniques and modern technology that enables Traditional Stone to produce one-of-a-kind, stone masterpieces while adhering to client timelines.

From start to finish, Traditional Cut Stone works to ensure a positive client experience. Once the project is complete, the stone carving is transported from the studio to the site of installation at the request of the client. Traditional Cut Stone ensures that each shipment and installation is carried out with the same attention to detail as the creation of the piece itself.

Hand drawn renderings and artist's sketches are produced for client approval. These drawings are completed with great detail in order to capture exactly what the client is looking for. CAD computer generated drawings, blueprints are part of this stage.

Once the 2-dimentional concepts have been approved by the client, a 3-dimentional clay model is hand sculpted. This second stage allows the client to see exactly how the carving will appear and changes can be easily made at this time.

Upon approval, a plaster cast will be taken from the clay to provide an accurate model from which the stone will be carved. This ensures that the final carving is completely faithful to the clay model.

Skilfully and meticulously carved with an artist's eye for detail, the finished carving converges old world craftmanship and a sense of history in the making. These works of art will be appreciated for generations to come.
